"The best solution to crime crisis is to prevent it."

The student leaders of ZSCMST attended the seminar-workshop on Crime and Drug Abuse Prevention last September 3, 2008 at (SCC) Southern City Colleges gymnasium.

This is in connection with the 14th Annual Celebration of National Crime Prevention Week, held every September.

In observance of the said celebration the (NAPOLCOM) National Police Commission coordinated with the NCPW Interagency Technical Working Committee to conduct seminar-workshops in the selected academic institutions of Zamboanga City bringing the theme, " Kapit-bisig Kabataan Tungo sa Kapayapaan," and the slogan "Lakad Kabataan Laban sa Kriminalida."

Student leaders and criminology students from other schools such as UZ, STI and SCC joined to support "Crime Prevention" in their respective campuses. In this institution, the SCC President, Rufa L. Mendez and some club organization officers participated with the assistance of NSTP Coordinator, Elenita Concepcion. Automatically, they become members of (SPSC) Student Crime Prevention Committee of their Campus and the SSC President as the chairwoman.

The ITWC emphasized that crime prevention is everybody's concern and even highlighted that the moral status of the academic instituions right now will be the status of the community in the near future. (Mast Chronicle)
